1) Free History writing tutors
The History Department is offering FREE WRITING TUTORS to any student enrolled in a History class this fall! Writing Tutors can assist with crafting a thesis, proofreading, choosing correct grammar, and understanding how to effectively structure an essay, research paper, slideshow, or any other writing assignment. Reach out today to one of our Certified Writing Aces (not a real thing, but it sounds impressive), Dakota Adelmann (dma89@humboldt.edu) and Ian Jones (ij17@humboldt.edu)! 2) HIST 387 International Education Week course
This course is a History Department practicum elective. Check out last year's schedule here (which typically includes presentations by several History professors) for an idea of what sort of topics and events to expect in this course.

3) URPC Open Forums - Nov. 1, 15, and 29
This is a four-part series taking place every other Tuesday throughout the fall semester. All Open Forums will take place from 9:00 am-10:30 am in The Great Hall and will be recorded and posted to view for those that cannot attend.
 

Tuesday, October 18, 2022: Budget Planning & Enrollment Update
Content: Budget 101, overview of where we are, where we are headed, and how we all fit, highlight fall budget planning activities (including poly), highlight Fall Census enrollment and current enrollment projections (recording)

Tuesday, November 1, 2022: Graduation Initiative 2025 (GI 2025) Retention & Graduation, Enrollment Demographics
Content: Overview of Cal Poly Humboldt enrollment demographics, overview of Cal Poly Humboldt retention and graduation statistics, update on the five GI 2025 priorities, highlight new CO student success dashboards, highlights from the CSU GI 2025 Convening

Tuesday, November 15, 2022: Capital Projects, Maintenance, and Space Planning
Content: Overview of current capital, maintenance, and space planning efforts underway. In addition, we will overview the USFAC committee and space planning process. 

Tuesday, November 29, 2022: Beyond the General Fund: Highlighting the Broader Ecosystem of Resources at Humboldt, Including Research, Philanthropy, and Community Partnerships
Content: Panelist session highlighting initiatives underway and future opportunities

  
4) Cal Poly Humboldt Sustainability Newsletter 
Browse the most recent newsletter to find information on events, campus sustainability projects, community happenings, and other useful tips. This newsletter is authored by Green Campus, a student group that operates under Cal Poly Humboldt's Office of Sustainability. Upcoming items of possible interest to ENST/EC students include:
  • Food Sovereignty Lab internship, applications due Nov. 18
  • Cal Poly SLO is hosting Climate Solutions Now, a virtual conference on climate change and sustainability issues, Oct. 26-28.
  • Students for Zero Waste Conference, Nov. 9-13.
