1) Student reps sought for Student Activities Funding Board; applications due Nov. 18
The Cal Poly Humboldt Office of Student Life is officially launching the student event funding source: The Jackpot! and looking for student representatives to sit on the Student Activities Funding Board (SAFB). These board members will play an integral part in supporting student led events. Apply here: SAFB application. We are looking for a diverse group of students who have a passion for building our campus culture and want to play a bigger role in supporting their peers through events. They will be compensated for their time spent at required meetings and must be in good academic standing. Check out our website here. Board Member Application Deadline:  Friday, November 18.

2) Johnston-Aronoff Scholarship now accepting applications

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Cal Poly Humboldt History student who will be a full-time student – 12 units – with junior or senior standing in fall 2023. Students who meet even one of the following preferences are encouraged to apply: have an emphasis in the study of California and/or the Western United States; OR who are Native American; OR who are pursuing a history-related (e.g., social sciences) teaching credential; OR who have graduated from either a Humboldt County charter or high school. To apply for the scholarship, submit online, via the Scholarship button on the Financial Matters tab of your myHumboldt portal, the materials listed there. (Make sure you are viewing the complete list of scholarships – not just “recommended” scholarships – and then do a search for “Johnston-Aronoff.”) The application deadline is January 31.
