3) Panetta Congressional Internship Program, deadline extended to March 20 

This expenses-paid program includes a two-week academic orientation to national politics and protocol at the Panetta Institute in Monterey, CA, with an eleven-week experiential education as a Panetta intern in a Washington, D.C. office of a California member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The internship is open to students from all majors, but an applicant should have an interest in public service. To qualify, a student must be a U.S. Citizen and California resident, be enrolled in a degree-granting program at Cal Poly Humboldt, have achieved a minimum 60 graded units but no more than 120 units in Fall 2023 semester, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Free History writing tutors

The History Department is offering FREE WRITING TUTORS to any student enrolled in a History class! Writing Tutors can assist with crafting a thesis, proofreading, choosing correct grammar, and understanding how to effectively structure an essay, research paper, slideshow, or any other writing assignment. Reach out today to one of our Certified Writing Aces (not a real thing, but it sounds impressive), Dakota Adelmann (dma89@humboldt.edu) and Ian Jones (ij17@humboldt.edu)! Please contact them directly to make an appointment.

College Corps

Consider applying to the second cohort of the College Corps program. Each College Corps Fellow is placed with a local community non-profit organization that is focused on building a stronger and more resilient society.  Accepted fellows will need to commit to serve a total of 450 hours between August 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024 (~ 15 hours per week).  In exchange, they will receive a $7,000 living stipend, excellent work experience, plus a $3,000 Education Award upon successful completion. Applications will be accepted until all spots are filled. Fellow Applications for Cohort 2 are due by March 15, 2023. Here is also a short clip about our program. Questions?
