2) Research assistant position
The Humboldt County History Society is hiring a part-time research assistant. The job would be mostly during HCHS open hours, Wednesday through Friday, 12:30-6:30 PM, and starts at $16/hour. See the position description on the HCHS website here.
3) Historic Buildings & More! Jan. 7
2:30-3:30 p.m. A Humboldt County Historical Society presentation by Lynette Mullen. The lecture will be hosted via Zoom by the Humboldt County Library. The deadline to sign up for access to the lecture is 5 PM on the Friday before the lecture. Upon registration, participants will receive the meeting ID and password. See here for details.

4) State Historian II examination
The application deadline for the State Historian II Civil Service Exam is January 7. This is for the Historian classification that the California State Parks Department uses to hire permanent staff. Only candidates who have passed this exam will be allowed to apply for permanent positions. See here for more details about this process.
